Putting Out Fires

Fire Breaks Out During Napa Engagement Shoot

True story - you know you're marrying the right guy when he puts out a fire minutes before you're going to be in front of the camera for your engagement photoshoot. This is not the actual photo as I was too busy standing there in awe/fear.

As for metaphorical fires, I feel like I'm constantly trying to put them out. Planning a wedding is task after task after task. With most the items on the to-do list, you're at the mercy of other people. I get it now. I've heard from hundreds of brides how stressful planning a wedding can be. So far I've kept it at a minimum by keeping it small and being realistic on what I can actually manage. I'm lucky because I have my "people" - close friends and family that I trust to execute on the big day. Brides and grooms-to-be, you either ask for help, pay for help, or pull your hair out trying to do it all by yourselves. Ultimately, you have to make your decisions based on limited information and time. Once you make that decision, don't second guess yourself. It will be fine, right? I could be on Pinterest all day, daydreaming about the perfect wedding. But at the end of the day, I understand that some things are just not going to get done without me quitting my day job. It's a tradeoff that I'm willing to take since I love what I do. And lastly, it's about marrying the person who is literally going to put out fires with/for you.

Next time, I'll share photos from our Napa engagement photo session.
