Their love may have blossomed in San Francisco, but their story began in New England where they met in college along the Charles River - Ian, a rower, and Sophie, his coxswain. They reconnected when both found themselves on the left coast, and their love was instant. When it came time to propose, Ian planned a Christmas getaway in Napa Valley with a surprise proposal at sunrise in a hot air balloon. Although Sophie wanted a wine country affair, their New England roots brought them closer to home where both their families reside. As a child, Ian dreamt of one day marrying at the Crane Estate, where he spent time at Castle Hill going to summer concerts and swimming at Crane's Beach. He convinced Sophie to visit The Great House on Castle Hill, and she fell in love the second she saw it. Theirs was a classic New England wedding at a gorgeous estate atop Castle Hill. The bride wore a custom American-made Chantilly lace trumpet wedding gown with a backless neckline by San Francisco wedding dress designer, Trish Lee. The groom donned a black tuxedo complete with suspenders and bow tie. Congratulations Sophie and Ian - may your fairytale love be everlasting.
