After dating for three years, Jackie and Ajay said their vows in a crazy charming whitewashed old church, set amidst lush greenery in Oahu, Hawaii. Thrown in for good measure were a few tropical details (hello pineapple!) that topped off the festivities for couple's Hawaiian destination wedding. Jackie wore our Reagan wedding dress, a fitted sweetheart strapless lace gown. She is the 3rd generation of Ogata women to get married at the Ewa Community Church. Her grandparents, Asao and Yaeko Ogata, were married on August 31, 1948, and her parents, Daniel and Louise Funasaki, were married on August 10, 1980.
Recalling the most memorable moment of the wedding day, Jackie shared, "A friend gave us some great advice before our wedding. The advice was to make sure we found a few minutes to share just between the two of us sometime during the hectic day of festivities. And I think a moment that we shared toward the end of the night, as we silently gazed at framed photos of our parents, and grandparents, who were not able to be with us that day, allowed us to reflect on the commitment we made to each other. "
May the two of you remember to take time out to reflect on the love that brought you here. Congratulations Jackie and Ajay!
