Joanne was one of our most memorable brides of 2017. Warm, funny, and a dead ringer for Chrissy Teigen, she came to our studio after having second thoughts on her wedding dress. Her fiance, ever the supportive guy, convinced her to find the dress of her dreams, even if it meant buying two dresses.
On meeting Joanne, her love for San Francisco and the Warriors endeared her to me instantly. We chatted like old girlfriends at her fittings. What I remember distinctly is how she glowed when she talked about John's proposal, "It honestly was like a movie. We stayed a weekend at the Hotel Vitale in front of the Ferry Building - one of our favorite places in the city. That Saturday morning, we walked out for some Philz coffee in the light drizzle, and John came prepared with two umbrellas. After walking through the Ferry Building, we walked towards Cupid’s Arrow. As soon as we arrived, John told me how much he loved me, got down on one knee, placed the umbrella down, and asked me to marry him. I was crying and dropped the umbrella too. I held his face, said yes, and we kissed in the rain - it was so romantic. On top of that, he had arranged for my parents and a few of my best friends to join us for brunch at the Restaurant Americano back at the hotel - which was another sweet surprise. We held our wedding rehearsal dinner at this restaurant because it is a special place for us."
For her big day, Joanne chose to wear the Angelina, a classic silk trumpet wedding gown, customized with tulle off-the-shoulder straps and a beaded crystal belt. Check out video highlights from their Ritz Carlton wedding. Congrats to the lovely couple!
